Alphabet

I was not able to master the alphabet, let alone reading so I was hit often. But I was very good at arithmetic and could answer orally however if I wrote the answers I often reversed the numbers and the conclusion was that I was lazy because I would not try to read and write and stupid because I knew the answers in arithmetic but could not put them down correctly.

  "…If a person can’t read fast enough (determined by people who set standards and norms) most academic professions are out of reach. I wanted to study medicine but this was out of  the question for a learning disabled person no matter what their I.Q. and potential are.”

  I was one of the lucky “missed children” for I found a profession where I was able to creative and that enabled me to become visible after many years of wanting to be invisible.
